SeaTwirl AB (publ) is a Swedish energy-tech company with the vision to become a leading supplier of floating wind turbines and the purpose to enable floating offshore wind power wherever it is needed. SeaTwirl's unique floating vertical-axis wind turbine has a low centre of gravity, a slim substructure, and a generator house accessible at the sea surface enabling small, cost efficient, and locally available vessels to maintain it. SeaTwirl's first prototype, a unit of 30 kW is installed in the water outside off Lysekil and has verified the design in marine environment. We are now looking for our next colleague to join us in our office at Lilla Bommen, Gothenburg.
The position:
As a lead engineer you will have responsibility for development and integration of components and coordination with sub-contractors and colleagues to develop the mechanical system of drive train and support for SeaTwirl’s products and solutions. The work will be focused on management and development, 50/50, in our small, dynamic, and diverse team. The work will range from concept development to detail engineering and procurement. This type of challenge requires good assessment skills, understand complex engineering scope for the team while also have a keen eye for detailed engineering. Focus areas are for example drive train, brake system, cooling system, joining interface (bolts/welds) and manufacturing selection.
Main functions will include:
Project management (Timelines, milestones, and deliveries).
Product development (from concept to detailed drawings).
Ensuring that the projects deliverables are executed (follow-up yard work and system implementation).
Create and follow work-flow processes and manage engineering activities.
Interface with various sub-contractors and suppliers and negotiating contract when necessary.
Responsible for the on-time delivery of reports drawings and technical queries.
Requirements:
Master of Science in relevant area (for example: mechanical engineering, power electric engineering, naval architecture or construction).
Ability to work independently.
English proficiency is mandatory both written and spoken.
Yard or/and manufacturing experience.
Working experience within a relevant field.
Knowledge of industry standards: ABS, DNVGL, IEC, ISO, ASTM, etc
