Background


The test automation for our Android ECU today is done using indigenously developed python framework based on google test framework (uiautomator) and pytest.


Problem
Today test development is not happening in parallel with software development.
The test development is tightly connected to the software development and the test is more prone to break due to non-functional software changes. This also demands more time for maintenance of the tests.
Not capable of giving on-demand feedback for the developers
Questions stability of the test

Solution
Investigate different android testing framework on the market and present the Pros and Cons of different framework and its adaptability to our Android based ECU.

We expect you to have hands-on experience with battery hardware testing like test planning, test method development, creation of Design Verification Matrices (DVMs), conducting battery tests in both rig and vehicle environments. As well as collecting and analyzing test data, doing test execution/evaluation (thermal/electrical performance, legal/certification tests, functional verification, durability test). 

In addition, you have:
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, preferably in Electrical, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or an equivalent field. 
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in the automotive industry, with at least 4 years focused on energy storage systems, particularly high-voltage traction batteries. 
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, and the use of Vector Tools for data analysis and visualization. 
* Strong knowledge of measurement technology and equipment used in battery testing, including but not limited to multimeters and data acquisition systems. 
* Excellent communication and cooperation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. 

Meriting:  
Experience from Electromobility and AVL testing environments?for battery packs. Knowlage within commercial vehicle or automotive product development, DVP (Develop Product and Aftermarket Product Portfolio) and Alpha testing support.  
Support for PIL’s (Failures observed on the field), benchmarking (Ex: e-Actros tests), reliability tests (hot & cold) in vehicle. We also value if you have a truck/bus driving license.

The department Electromobility is part of the product development organization of Volvo Group Trucks Technology in Gothenburg. Within the Electromobility department we work with design and development of electromobility systems and components such as energy storage, motor drives and charging solutions for Volvo group products. The organization develops and drives the Electromobility product portfolio for Trucks, Buses, Construction Equipment and Marine applications. Furthermore, we create opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. 

About the team: 

The Energy Storage System Control team is responsible for the multi-pack battery management software used in all Volvo Groups electric products. As a Software Function Developer, you will be developing in-house software to control high voltage batteries in multi pack systems with responsibility such as state of charge, battery connecting strategy and charging. Organizationally we belong to Electromobility, which was formed to be in the forefront of environmentally friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.

Who are you? 

We are looking for a Software Function Engineer who is highly collaborative. You also value the customer’s perspective and high expectations using Volvo’s premium products in your daily business. Experience from the automotive industry, embedded systems or software development is necessary for this role. You have knowledge within complete vehicle, electric vehicles and software verification.

In addition, we believe you have the following: 
•    Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical engineering and Physics or similar.
•    Strong aptitude in abstract thinking, system theoretic analysis, and model-based control design. 
•    High proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink based modelling/analysis. 
•    Minimum 3 years of experience with embedded software development.
•    Fluent in both written and spoken English.

The Vehicle Motion & Thermal Management Technology stream leads and develops complete vehicle motion- and thermal control solutions for Safe, Sustainable and Efficient transportation. Our technology scope is broad and involves advanced mechatronic systems related to the motion and optimization of energy in our vehicles.

The Vehicle Motion Management team is looking for a specialist function developer to join our growing team to meet the future challenges with battery electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles and autonomous vehicles. 
We are an agile and high performing team, consisting of people with diverse backgrounds and nationalities. We deliver in-house Motion Control and advanced actuator coordination software that is used to enhance vehicle stability, performance, and energy efficiency for various vehicle configurations in different driving situations.

As a team we have fun at work, and it is important for us to stay connected by working closely together, arranging group activities etc. 

WHAT CHALLENGE DO WE OFFER?
As a function developer you will participate in areas, including (but not limited) to:
- Design of vehicle motion coordination strategies for both manually driven and highly automated vehicles
- SW design considering e.g., ISO26262 & Cyber Security requirements
- SW development within our Continuous Integration framework, delivering SW updates to production vehicles
- Algorithm design and proof of concept investigations for new Vehicle Motion Management functionality (for both manually driven and highly automated vehicles)

Who are you?

We expect an Embedded Software developer has a good ability in working in teams, is proactive, is creative, shares experiences, has the drive and take responsibility. Our software development teams are highly skilled in C ++ development, software architecture, subsystems verification and requirements. A team member is expected to take on all kinds of tasks from the backlog, but each the team use to have deeper knowledge and interest in one of the competence domains. As part time Scrum master the expectations are to facilitate the SAFe practices, act as interface for the team and to coach the team to become a high performing team.

What will you do?
The mission is to contribute as Software Engineer/Scrum master to develop the next generation of in-vehicle connectivity-based solutions for the whole Volvo Group and to act as Scrum Master for a team at about seven people.
