What you will do:
As the Chapter Area Lead .NET you will play an important part in contributing to successfully establishing the .NET engineering Chapter and leading this domain. You will support the Head of .NET Chapter to define the global strategy for all .NET engineers in Digital Delivery. You will also develop and execute a competence strategy for your domain together with the Head of .NET and the Chapter Leads in your team.

Your mission:
Your mission is to support the team with clear and respectful leadership in order to secure well-functioning co-ordination, processes and planning horizon. You and the team will discuss and plan together with our Sales Areas to achieve appreciated events and visits, strengthening both our brand and business potential.
You will interact on a daily basis with the vehicle demonstration team to secure that we have the right trucks available as well as engaged driver instructors for each visit or event.
You will also play a key role in co-operation with our launch teams in order to enable our successful launch programs incl. competence development, press and customer activities.
As an active member of the Marketing management team, you will take part in the development of the overall marketing strategy and agenda supporting the commercial objectives of Volvo Trucks.

As Delivery Manager for Mobile & XR deliveries, you will be key in the execution of the Digital & IT Strategy. In this role, you will be an important contributor to the transformation of the IT landscape in Volvo Group. You will enable the shift to a modern, agile, and cost-efficient delivery organization. You will be part of the Mobile & XR Management Team and report to the Head of Mobile & XR.


These are the main expectations on you
You will be accountable for the deliveries of the Mobile & XR feature products across different TD/BA/GFs.

manage business and major project and application interfaces and based on their inputs build the capacity planning and secure the IT Delivery quality;
secure budget and quality of operations by nurturing the continuous improvement mindset in the Mobile & XR extended team;

ensure execution of assigned/required processes and activities and follow up on results delivered for own area of responsibility;
handshake with the concerned business the Mobile & XR transformation journey and secure a good alignment with them;
work in a close collaboration with the Mobile & XR Foundational Product Transformation Leads to secure requirements for the technology roadmap and investment plan;
work with Chapters organization to execute the capacity plan;
manage the team of direct reports of Solution Leaders and Delivery Leaders from Poland, France, Sweden.

About the role

Job description


We are now looking for a Technical Specialist in Energy Optimization, HVAC systems and building installations. You will be part of an ambitious group of people who are curious, committed, and customer-focused who believe that the key to success is working together towards clear targets, exchanging ideas, trusting each other, and having fun. You will work in and contribute to an area that is growing and continue to increase its importance.


In this position, you will report to the VP Center of Expertise and be an active part of the CoE team.


Your main focus:


Your main focus areas will include driving the development and knowledge sharing of the preserv property assets process and to support the preparedness for needs related to electromobility at our sites. You will also support on property investment and long term maintenance projects within this area of expertise, such as guiding projects from early stages through the full design process, securing the correct level of set targets based on our Building Standards and relevant legislation. Driving internal collaboration and transfer of knowledge on a global level will be an essential part of your job.

An extension to the fleet-size and mix-vehicle routing problem for a fleet of electric heavy vehicles


Background


With the current trends of electrification of commercial heavy vehicles, mission planning and vehicle transport optimization are becoming more important because of inherent characteristics of electric vehicles, e.g., range-anxiety. It means that there is not only the objective on fuel consumption reduction or shortest distance, but also the existence of complicating constraints on the vehicle range, and the consideration of additional costs caused by visits to the charging stations, including waiting times, and additional driver wages. Therefore, the planning of electric vehicles’ missions plays a larger role and is more complicated than the conventional vehicles.


A class of problems that can be suitable for planning the fleet mission is fleet-size and mix-vehicle routing problem (FSMVRP), which is extensively studied in the literature. A heterogeneous, or mixed, fleet refers to vehicles with different payload capacities (see [1]). In addition, this thesis aims at including vehicles with different powertrain, i.e., different battery sizes and ranges (e.g., [2]), and the fleet size being nonfixed.


Moreover, this thesis starts from a problem definition that is more general than the traditional routing problem and FSMVRP. For example, we will allow for multiple trips, i.e., a vehicle can travel on one or more cyclic routes more than once [3]; a node is allowed to be visited by the same or other vehicles more than once, i.e., split pick-ups and deliveries [4]; some of the nodes have charging stations that might or might not be visited [5]; at loading-unloading nodes, there is a constraint of the type of loading-unloading [3], so not all vehicles can visit all nodes. The demands at nodes can be pick-up or delivery or both and they may exceed vehicle capacities [6].


Purpose


The purpose of this thesis can be summarized as follows.
Designing an optimization model for minimizing the fleet transportation cost comprising electric energy cost and driver wage (or equivalent vehicle up-time cost) to find the best fleet size and composition and missions, i.e., routes, visited nodes, amounts of pick-ups and deliveries, visited charging stations, and number of trips to meet the network daily demand. The number of vehicles visiting a node, or a charging station is limited. For calculating energy consumption, a given on-road dynamic vehicle model shall be used considering road topography, vehicle powertrain and vehicle starts and stops.
Suggesting classical optimization solution methods, such as Benders or column generation reformulations, to decompose and solve the extended FSMVRP. The suggested methods need to be tested on a benchmark problem with a low number of nodes and vehicle types, in order to be solved within a reasonable computation time.



Additional Information


The thesis is recommended for one or two students with a strong background in mathematics and mathematical optimization with good programming skills. Prior experience with programming in Python, control theory, and modeling/simulation is meritorious. The work will be carried out at Volvo Group Trucks Technology, Sweden. Location: Preferably Göteborg, Sweden

We are looking for a Service Area Lead to join our governance and platform development of the public cloud platforms offered to the Volvo Group. In this role you will have the responsibility for the Shared Cloud Infrastructure Services development. The Shared Cloud Infrastructure Services are the common cloud layer platform(s) that enables secured, governed and supported services from Group IT appointed cloud providers.
