This will be us - your new colleagues
We are now recruiting a people leader with Scrum Master responsibilities for our department. You will be manager for one team on site handling two products and one remote agile team responsible for a third product.
A product called Service Configurator (Master of documenting connected services in Configuration of Connected Services). The second product is Software Regulator (New tool developed to comply with Regulation regarding Software update management). The third product is called SWDT (SW Documentation tool) that gathers documentation data for certification purposes.


Job Summary:
In this role, your responsibilities will extend to managing the employees' work environment in alignment with defined tasks, overseeing all People & Culture related processes such as salary setting, appraisals, and goal setting. Taking charge of recruitment, labor relations, health and safety, and standard line manager duties, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a conducive and efficient workplace.


Team development is a core aspect of your daily activities, utilizing your skill set to foster cross-functionality and elevate the team to high performance. Identifying and resolving escalated team impediments, with a primary focus on flow, and escalating them during the Program increment, underscores your commitment to ensuring smooth operations.


Your leadership background, coupled with agile behaviors and mindset, will be paramount. As a seasoned Scrum master, you will collaborate closely with HCL, our server and infrastructure partner, leveraging any prior experience in this domain to your advantage. Additionally, your interaction with consultancy firms and adept handling of work packages will be crucial, providing further advantageous experience.


Working closely with vendors, suppliers, and Digital Product Owners, you will ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary prerequisites for success, actively addressing impediments. Given the context, prior experience in the automotive industry is considered advantageous, while expertise in Embedded Software Development, Configuration Management, or proficiency in digital tools creation is deemed meritorious for this role.

Our department specializes in Sustainability consulting. As we expand our presence in European and global markets, we are looking for a Junior Management Consultant to join our Sustainability team. The position will be based in Malmö, Luleå, Stockholm, or Göteborg, and will involve working both internationally and within the Swedish market.
In this position, you will have an opportunity to make your contribution to the sustainability transformation within companies, and diving deep into topics that are changing the corporate sustainability landscape and business strategy (e.g. sustainability strategy and reporting (CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy), ESG risks and governance, regulatory compliance, NetZero strategy and implementation, circular economy, corporate biodiversity, supply chain due diligence, and sustainable finance).
As a Junior Management Consultant, your tasks will include:
Participate in various projects in sustainability consulting
Together with senior colleagues collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific needs and develop tailored solutions that align with their business goals and objectives

Qualifications

Evaluation and improvements for display-based systems like Camera Monitor Systems in trucks.


Background

Driver Interaction and Infotainment at Volvo Group Trucks Technology work with everything from the platform layer on ECUs to content and interaction design on truck screens, mirrors, controls, and other things the driver sees and interacts with.
Over time, the number and sizes of displays in trucks have increased, which could affect the drivers´ subjective perception (e.g. comfort, acceptance and sense of control), impact physiological aspects (e.g. fatigue, cognitive load and depth perception), and affect the driving performance (e.g. gaze behaviours, distance judgment and risk-taking).

Description of thesis work
The focus of this Master Thesis is to compare a truck with rearview mirrors combined with smaller displays to a truck with Camera Monitor displays combined with larger displays.
The effects the two different driver environments have on drivers will be evaluated in trucks equipped with different sensors, driving on public roads or test track.
A combination of perceptual, psychophysical, cognitive and subjective measurements will be collected and analysed, e.g. eye gaze behaviour and subjective measurements.
The aim is to draw conclusions about what needs to be improved for future display-based systems to support a healthier and safer driver environment.


Goal of the thesis

The goal is to investigate the impacts of the growing number of displays in trucks, draw conclusions about what could be improved and propose future development for display-based systems.


Activities

* Background and state of art.
* Design an experiment to evaluate two different existing trucks.
* Equip trucks with cameras and other measurement equipment.
* Perform a user evaluation in the trucks with truck drivers.
* Interview drivers and collect qualitative measurements.
* Analyze the data, especially eye gaze behavior and subjective measurements.
* Conclude and propose recommendations and requirements on improved concepts for future displays in trucks.



Desirable expertise

Design and product development, interaction design, cognitive science, with an interest in and experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Students must be tied to a Swedish university for their thesis.

Thesis Level: Master.

Language: Swedish or English.

* You will participate in a global network of BIW engineers and be part of the development of roadmaps and other strategies as well as proposing and executing the Advanced Engineering studies needed to support them

Profile and Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years of experience in BIW/DIW CAD design from trucks or cars, with at least 5 years working with concept and feasibility

Background

Are you ready to kickstart your career with one of the most innovative and renowned automotive companies in the world? We are thrilled to announce an incredible Master thesis opportunity at Volvo GTT starting in the beginning of year 2025.
Today as a part of preventive maintenance program and during some repair operations engine oil is replaced. Usually this is done within fast intervals. Intervals’ length depends on powertrain operating condition. Both trucks and buses perform replacement at certified Volvo dealers. There are huge volumes of replaced oil.

About the thesis work

There is a huge potential to reduce: 
•    Environmental footprint (CO2) and 
•    Economical cost
•    Improve logistics

The main goals for this thesis are:
•    Possibility to clean oil locally in the workshop
•    In case local cleaning not possible investigate logistic flow to RRBO
•    If local cleaning or RRBO is not a good or possible solution, what other use cases can we have for the oil?

There are many interesting aspects of this thesis work:
•    Possibility to clean oil locally in the workshop
•    In case local cleaning not possible investigate logistic flow to RRBO
•    If RRBO is not possible is there any other use case? Use as fuel on ships etc?
•    How used oil is handled today by Volvo
•    Benchmark of competitors
•    What requirements cleaned oil needs to fulfil
•    What tools are needed for cleaning (to fulfil requirements)
•    How to filter impurities but not additive?



Who you are

We expect you are finishing your studies in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
Background in automotive engineering and interests in sustainability and automotive industry are plus.
You are expected to start January/February 2025 and the location will be at Volvo GTT, Arendal, Göteborg

What you will do

As our new Passive Safety Test Engineer, you will be an important stakeholder for securing the the planning and execution of tests to support passive safety development, including verification activities on component-, system- and complete vehicle level. As part of your job you will report identified concerns and work in close cooperation with design engineers and feature leaders to improve the vehicle safety system performance.
The work is varying and interesting, so a flexible mindset is very valuable. As our test engineer you will perform tests at our internal premises as well as in external test labs. You will manage the relationship with our external test labs and ensure that our tests are planned, performed and reported in a correct and timely manner.
You will also support us in our work to become even better, this by improving our test methods and test codes and identify verification needs for new technologies.

At Durability and Safety Testing, you will work alongside some of the most accomplished colleagues in the industry. Our team consists of two passive safety test engineers, twelve durability test engineers and one measurement engineer. We are all working towards the same goal – to make our customers satisfied. Who are you?

* Our passive safety testing is carried out worldwide. Hence, you must have the ability and willingness to travel.


Preferred skills
* Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive passive safety testing
* Knowledge of passive safety test regulations
* Understanding of data acquisition systems for vehicle data collection
* Experience in analyzing test data
* Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Would you like to be a part of Cab Body team and together develop future cab bodies for the Volvo Trucks Heavy Duty ranges FH, FM and FMX? As Design Engineer at Cab Body team, at CAB engineering department, you will be a key contributor to the success of our customers. We are now looking for a Design Engineer to strengthen the Cab Body team in the area of Colors and Surface Treatment. In this role you will work in close co-operation with specialists and component owners.

Tasks and Responsibilities

•    You will be designer in the area of surface treatment, colors, adhesives and sealants
•    You will create technical drawings to define the product
•    You will lead cross-functional work
•    Plan, secure and document design in projects cross-functionally

Profile and Qualifications

•    Good knowledge in the area of surface treatment, colors, adhesives and sealants
•    Good knowledge in written and spoken English
•    Leadership experience is an advantage
•    M.Sc. degree in chemistry or similar areas

THE POSITION
