Shop Engineering Manager

We are building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory that will be one of the largest battery cell production facilities in Europe. We are now looking for a Shop Engineering Manager, to lead the continuous method improvements in one of our Manufacturing shops, Electrode, Cell Assembly or Formation.

What you will do

As Shop Engineering Manager you will lead the Shop Engineers and Technicians in the production area, to optimize safety, quality, and efficiency in running operation. You will be reporting to the Director Manufacturing of the shop.

Key responsibilities will include:

Lead Shop Engineers and Technicians in responsible area.

Secure that manufacturing documentations handed over from the Engineering projects are correct and updated.

Lead the continuous improvement of manufacturing methods in running operations.

Monitor and analyze result from manufacturing, recommend improvements for safety, quality, delivery, and cost to Manufacturing Management.

Budget responsible for continuous improvement projects.

Lead analysis of complex problem solving.

Act as business owner for processes used in manufacturing covering both manual and digital solutions.

Lead the experience and knowledge transfer from current processes over to Engineering of new processes.


Skills & Requirements:

MSc degree in Engineering or equivalent knowledge.

Working experience from Production/Manufacturing Engineering in technical industry. 5+ years of relevant work experience within high volume production.

Experience from Manufacturing projects.

Six Sigma Green belt or knowledge in multivariable data analysis.

Experience in developing and give Manufacturing process training.

Knowledge in LEAN, FMEA, Process Capability and Problem Solving.

Excellent English skills – written and oral

In this role, you will be part of our Manufacturing Engineering function. The team consist of specialists and engineers across a broad range of engineering disciplines. What You Will Do
In your role as Manager Engineering, you will have a unique opportunity to form and mentor a team of skilled engineering talents within Battery Cell Process and Equipment. Together with your future team you will be part in shaping our ways of work in the Manufacturing Engineering department by interacting with other key departments to find seamless collaboration within the NOVO Energy organization.

You will have responsibility of all aspects of engineering management related to battery cell manufacturing processes. This includes designing and implementing new technologies and specialized equipment for battery manufacturing together with the help of your team.

In this role, you will be responsible for team growth working a lot with recruiting future team players, you as the leader will cover development and long-term employee satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in facilitating cross-functional integration with relevant engineering teams to define interfaces for advanced real-time monitoring, production control, and optimization.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Mentor and support engineers through consistent feedback, navigation of challenges, and providing development opportunities to encourage technical and professional growth.
- Responsible for managing engineers and suppliers to design and deliver industrial process equipment achieving aggressive yield and rate targets against tight deadlines optimizing following factors: Quality, Capacity, CAPEX, OPEX and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Manage projects, timelines, budget, and track progress within the teams.
- Establish and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.

Skills & requirements:
You have professional work experience of engineering leadership in fast-growing environments, particularly within the battery cell, semiconductor, electrochemical, or food and pharmaceutical industries. With your previous experience in project management, you can support and coach your future team with developing manufacturing processes.

You as a leader thrive on leading your team by building trust, and you have a genuine passion for people growth, innovation and technology. The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented and possess excellent time management skills.

The following qualifications are preferred:

- BSc. or MSc. in mechanical, chemical, industrial manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience working as a manager within large-scale projects.
- Previous experience within battery cell production is meritorious.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Experienced in managing people in multi-cultural environments.
- Competences in industrial methodologies such as value stream analysis, lean manufacturing, FMEA, design to cost etc.
- Ability to thrive under high pressure and meet tight deadlines.

About the role
As Machine Vision Engineer you will be part of the NOVO Engineering department. In your role you will collaborate with a cross-functional group of experts from automation, control, materials flow, factory design and software engineering. Together, we will design and implement software systems that enable a highly automated production process.

- Design, build, develop and implement state-of-the-art machine vision system solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.

What you will do

In this role you will be overseeing the commissioning activities of your discipline, working in close collaboration with Commissioning Manager, construction Team and subcontractors. You will be the first point of contact when it comes to HV/MV commissioning, ensuring a high level of standard and safety throughout the phases.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Organize and supervise the HV/MV Electrical commissioning team from systems turnover to Facility handover.
- Prepare, manage, perform, coordinate, and monitor the HV/MV electrical commissioning of the specified systems, development of commissioning plans, testing procedures, protocols, and reports for the equipment’s and auxiliaries thru the commissioning management system.
- Securing and confirming all isolations during equipment commissioning activities, and enforce HSE site requirements.
- Facilitate the handover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to the Facility in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure the commissioning, operation, quality record and feedback documentation are issued.
- Ensure that technical deviations are reported with a corresponding non-conformance report and that the same are followed up until their completion.

Skills & Requirements

- University degree, BSc, MSc or equivalent, within electrical engineering or power systems.

- Strong practical experience with industrial commissioning activities.

- Minimum 5 years documented experience from similar position in previous projects within greenfield industrial projects.

- Good knowledge and competence within commissioning documentation and procedures.

- Previous experience with commissioning management software is a plus.

We are building a state-of-the-art Gigafactory that will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe. We are now looking for a HV/MV Commissioning Lead to join our Facility & EPC team!

What you will do

In this role you will be overseeing the commissioning activities of your discipline, working in close collaboration with Commissioning Manager, construction Team and subcontractors. You will be the first point of contact when it comes to I&C commissioning, ensuring a high level of standard and safety throughout the phases.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Organize and supervise the I&C commissioning team from systems turnover to Facility handover.
- Prepare, manage, perform, coordinate, and monitor the I&C commissioning of the specified systems, development of commissioning plans, testing procedures, protocols, and reports for the equipment’s and auxiliaries thru the commissioning management system.
- Securing and confirming all isolations during equipment commissioning activities, and enforce HSE site requirements.
- Facilitate the handover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to the Facility in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure the commissioning, operation, quality record and feedback documentation are issued.
- Ensure that technical deviations are reported with a corresponding non-conformance report and that the same are followed up until their completion.

Skills & Requirements

- University degree, BSc, MSc or equivalent, within instrumentation & automation engineering, electrical engineering or similar.

- Strong practical experience with industrial commissioning activities.

- Minimum 5 years documented experience from similar position in previous projects within greenfield industrial projects.

- Good knowledge and competence within commissioning documentation and procedures.

- Previous experience with commissioning management software is a plus.

What you will do:

As Quality Engineer working in the production areas, you are part of a cross functional production team, reporting to the Manufacturing Superintendent and the Quality Manager. In your role, you will secure that products produced in the NOVO Energy plant comply to standards and specification, and by that meet customer product requirements and legislation.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)

Define and implement QA and QC activities in the cross functional production teams, ensuring that production/produce quality specifications are met.

Define and implement QMS in the production area. Perform internal audits.

Create training material and provide training to the team in quality topics.

Be the owner of the quality control plan for the area. Secure continuous review and updates based on production outcome and change introduction (process, materials, methods, products).

Training of new Quality technicians as well as performing QPS for Quality technicians in the area.

Lead efficient problem-solving activities and decision-making including escalation, according to the non-conformity management procedure, in case of non-conformities.

Interpret, analyze and report data/results on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.

Lead cross functional team activities such as planning, method development, problem solving and continuous improvements.


Skills & Requirements:

University degree in engineering and working experience within quality in a production environment.

Experience from working with technical cleanliness according to VDA 19.

-
Experience from Quality management systems according to ISO9001 and/or IATF 16949.

-
Knowledge in MSA, equipment calibration and in statistical process control.

-
Knowledge in problem solving methods & tools; 8D and 6 sigma (green belt level).

Excellent English skills – written and oral

You are execution oriented and able to solve complex problems, as well as organize teams and competences on short notice. You have a high level of integrity, also under pressure, and are able to efficiently sort and prioritize between tasks.
