Position description
Are you passionate about materials, colours and surface quality? How to make hard requirements possible while giving the customer a strong first impression through nice-looking high-quality surfaces? The Volvo GTT, CAB Living team, is looking for a new employee in our Surface Material team. Here you will work with all the visible surfaces of our Trucks. You will also have the chance to support our colleagues at VCE, Volvo Penta and Volvo Buses. If you have an interest in the technical aspect of surfaces and surface materials this might be the perfect position for you!

Your future team 

The Volvo GTT Surface Material team is a small group of five people within the Living team at Volvo GTT Cab Interior section. We are responsible for surface materials, including textiles, foils, nonwovens, and other materials, as well as surfaces such as plastic colors and grains, deco surfaces in paint, and other technologies. Our work are within, both the interior and exterior surfaces of trucks, collaborating closely with the Product Design team. We also work with other teams within Volvo for interior, exterior, electronics, and chassis parts. The team is also responsible for the curtain system and seat upholsteries. Surface material team not only work with Volvo Trucks but also support other Volvo branded products like excavators, wheel loaders, buses, and boat engines. The team has a strong and supportive spirit, helping each other to overcome obstacles. We work in an international environment with teams in India, France, and the USA. Our mission is to ensure that the surface materials and surfaces used in Volvo products are of the highest quality, focusing on user well-being, customer profitability, sustainability, and creating value for the Volvo Group.


What you will do

As a Surface Material Engineer, you will lead the development of surface materials such as textiles, foils, nonwovens or leathers, ensuring Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features, and Sustainability (QDCFs) standards are met. The job will also involve developing new colours and grains in plastics and other materials as well as deco materials such as paints and deco foils. You will develop the materials in collaboration with highly skilled suppliers and a supportive GTT team, in a deeply integrated collaboration with Product Design. Your main responsibilities will include:
•    Setting requirements and evaluating supplier work.
•    Managing the project timeline, changes, and cost evolution.
•    Acting as the primary technical contact for suppliers and leading their technical development efforts.
•    Communicating progress to various internal stakeholders, including lead engineers on several teams, product design, and purchasing.
•    Evaluating samples, including color and grain measurements.



Who you are
You are on your way to build a strong background in developing surface materials, and you have worked with different materials and technologies over the years. You have experience in setting requirements for surface materials and have led designs with multiple interfaces and stakeholders. You are confident in your knowledge, pragmatic in finding solutions, and understand how to balancing various demands. You have a documented proof of color vision and confidence in judging color, gloss, and surface finishes. You know how to transferring what you see into words, explaining what needs to change and how, to meet the requirements. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is second nature to you. You can maintain focus on objectives even under pressure, and you excel at explaining recommendations clearly. As a team player, you understand the importance of a committed timeline and your role in ensuring success.

Experience we seek:
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in textile engineering, technical design or equivalent knowledge and around 5 years of experience in product development within the automotive industry.
• Experience in leading Supplier Involvement Product Development (SIPD) of surface material development.
• Experience working in a global environment with multiple sites
• Good knowledge in the development and requirement setting of textiles, foils, decor, and/or polymer materials regarding color, gloss, and graining.
• Proficiency in communication and presentation techniques and proficiency of requirement documentation
• Understanding of legal requirements and how it would affect us.
• KOLA and MS Project is preferred.
• Proficiency in English,Swedish as a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and global team management.

The position:
As a lead engineer you will have responsibility for development and integration of components and coordination with sub-contractors and colleagues to develop the mechanical system of drive train and support for SeaTwirl’s products and solutions. The work will be focused on management and development, 50/50, in our small, dynamic, and diverse team. The work will range from concept development to detail engineering and procurement. Main functions will include:

Responsibilities
Receiving and Processing Requests:
Gather component function lists and switchmaps at project initiation.
Monitor component evolution, providing support to Interior designers and syncing with HMI icon library responsible.
Receive requests via project meetings, emails, chat, Jira, or self-generated from design reviews.
Ensure existing function icons are documented from approved data sources and maintain version control.

Timely Deliveries:
Deliver assets anywhere from concept stage to final design, depending on availability and project phase.
Distribute deliverables to designers and modellers via project collaboration platforms.

Delivery Format:
Provide assets in PDF format for reference and DXF format for CAD/DSM import.
Fulfill requests for other formats such as SVG/PNG for VR applications.
Include icons and metadata, scaled, with appropriate line-weight and positioning on CAD designs.

Adapting to Workflow Changes:
Adjust workflow as design operations transition between entities.
Continue support through collaboration folders, ensuring smooth handover.
Adapt to changes in transparency and structure, particularly in response to trends.

Collaboration with Design and Engineering Teams:
Respond to requests and tasks from the Interior Component team and occasionally from the HMI & UX team on a weekly basis, focusing more heavily on later project phases.

Qualifications
Requirements
Degree in Graphics design, Interaction design, human computer interaction, or related field. Or equivalent relevant education.
Proficiency in a graphic design or CAD software, particularly Adobe Illustrator.
Proficiency in Figma, the industry-leading design and prototyping tool
Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and collaboration platforms like Teams and SharePoint.
Knowledge about ISO regulations and other legal demands around automotive icons.
Knowledge about different demands on line thicknesses, curvature etc, for different manufacturing methods (printing, etching, molded, backlit, chromed etc).
Minimum 7 years relevant work experience.
+10 years solid working experience from automotive industry is required.

The Team
Our team, “Central functional safety at GTT” is in the heart of a great transformation. We work with developing and design vehicle functional safety concept, supporting all product streams across GTT to do HARA, FSC, TSC , Joint review with supplier and ensure compliancy of our development process and product to state of the arts such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and also AD standards such as UL 4600.
As Senior Functional Safety Engineer you will be part of the central functional safety competence center  and will be involved in both process and product development. This includes all levels of product development from participating in strategic planning for the group, partner/suppliers’ selection, review Functional Safety Statement of Work, initial concept design and stages of development through to production launch. It will involve interfacing with a variety of groups including electrical engineering and mechatronics engineering as well as customers and suppliers / technical partners.  
In this position you will be involve in detail of safety design, requirement review and support teams to do FSC and TSC at system, SW and HW levels which might include the refinement of safety requirements on HW and SW and ensure bidirectional traceability. 

The main responsibilities entailed in this role are:

• Active involvement in writing functional safety instruction and guidelines, providing templates.
• Provide functional safety trainings for different safety activities including impact analysis, HARA, safety analysis on SW and HW part. 
• Planning and scorekeeping of safety test activities (Safety plan) depending on the scope of each specific vehicle project 
• Drive the development of functional and technical safety concepts within the function, system, subsystem, software, and hardware 
• Lead functional safety engineering activities for product development teams and develop technical work products. 
• Co-developing Impact analysis and making recommendations for inclusion of accurate safety criteria in system design and procedures to control or eliminate hazards. 
• Develop technical work products specific for functional safety requirements, e.g. item definition, criticality analyses, other safety analyses, and test coverage analysis for safety requirements
• Support the implementation of functional and technical safety requirements in all parts of the vehicle system design 
• Support the development of verification and validation strategies within the subsystems, software, and hardware, e.g. hazard and risk assessment (HARA), FTAs, DFMEAs, functional safety concept & technical safety concept (for systems with safety goals or ASIL classified requirements) 
• Develop and integrate Functional Safety standards and industry common practices into corporate processes according to ISO 26262. 
• Ensure technical specifications and other work products are prepared, and stored correctly, and revisions are managed and released in timely manner 
• Ensure that safety plan activities meet program timing. 
• Align safety related topics with suppliers and customers.

2. FMEA & FTA, Performing DFA, analysis of freedom of Interferences.

4. SW/HW Architecture
5. HW schematics, BOM list and HW Metrics (ASIL C/D)

• Functional and technical safety concept for automotive industry within domains with ASIL > B
• Fluent in English, spoken and written. (C2)

The Position:
The mission of VT&RT; SPP Group manager is to define, lead and drive the implementation of creative, value adding relevant total product offer improvements for Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks product lines.
You will lead and inspire a global team, consisting of 10 highly skilled and motivated colleagues, located in Sweden, France and Brazil. It is a senior and high impact position where you will report to Industry Vertical and COE Strategic Product Planning Director.
You will be cooperating with colleagues within Strategic Product Planning, Vehicle Engineering, Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks Brand to secure the planning and initiation of the necessary Cab Over Engine (COE) products and platform evolution.
(Cab over engine refers to European heavy duty truck architecture) 
Your keys responsibilities will be the following: 
•    Quarterly Product Plan updates for Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks.
•    Quarterly Portfolio fulfilling at best the Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks Product Plans.
•    Drive strategic investigation to define Product Events with market and customer knowledge.
•    Develop Strategic Product Plans scenarios beyond the 8years product plans, developing the sustainability journey for Cab Over Engine VT & RT.
•    Prepare and release Product Event. Assign responsible for prerequisites until Intro Block Connection
•    Integrate outcome from strategic work such as Industry Verticals, Foresight output into actionable product planning activities.
•    Develop the Strategic Product Planning team.
To be successful in this task, you will leverage SPP department to support the best product plan together with the Truck Brands, Group Trucks Technology, Group Trucks Operation and Purchasing.

The Team

Our team, “Cybersecurity Infrastructure Capabilities and Type approval” is in the heart of a great transformation. We work with developing and improving our product cybersecurity management system (PCSMS) in a continues manner, providing cybersecurity architect and concept along with releasing cybersecurity infrastructure requirements. This is supporting teams to do high level attack vector analysis and vehicle TARA analysis to facilitate releasing work products according to state of the arts such as ISO/SEA 21434 and UNECE 155.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer with special competences in Risk Analysis. This role supports us by different type of activities within cybersecurity infrastructure including improvement of TARA methodology with focusing on risk analysis and risk management. Apart from TARA you will work with cybersecurity testing, threat intelligence and vulnerability analysis both conceptual design and deployment in different automotive domains. You will get opportunity to work with latest cybersecurity solutions and collaborate with experts within this domain. The main responsibilities entailed in this role are:
* Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) on product streams level.
* Act as the technical and administrative interface between the Cybersecurity department and R&D teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
* Apply expertise in cybersecurity for embedded systems, particularly within the automotive domain.
* Understand and implement UNECE R155 implications and ISO/SAE 21434 work products.
* Conduct Attack vector analysis, Vulnerability analysis, incident response processes, and Cybersecurity Verification & Validation.
* Drive technical investigations to identify root causes of vulnerabilities and participate in system design reviews.
* Utilize technical knowledge in both software (authentication solutions, Bootloader) and hardware (Hardware Security Modules – HSM) aspects of cybersecurity implementation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective cooperation and determination of key responsible persons.
