What You'll Do

The In-house SW & Test team within the department Side & Roof (Vehicle Platform Solution), owns, design and develop functions for Locking, Alarm and different openings of the vehicle (such as windows, doors and tailgate) to provide the best customer user experience in our future vehicles. To strengthen our SW team we are now looking for a Sr SW Engineer.

As SW Engineer, you will be responsible for our SW strategies as well as:

•Be the Volvo representative in coordinating and guiding our bought packages towards our suppliers/partners to ensure success
• Take a leading role in software architecture, technical decisions and development.
• Lead software development activities , including new ways of working,  participating in all phases of the development cycle including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, unit testing and Integration testing.
• Lead functional and architectural reviews and bring innovative solutions to technical issues.
Support the Engineering Manager and Product Owner is strategic and operative tasks

What you‘ll Bring

•    You have a background in software development, testing, continuous integration, and a commitment to software quality, with a Master of Science within electronics, mechatronics, software or similar

Vad erbjuder vi?

Som Underhållstekniker arbetar du med att säkerställa produktionsutrustningars driftsäkerhet genom reparationer samt utförande av förebyggande och avhjälpande underhåll. I uppgiften ingår också utredningsuppdrag avseende tekniska störningar, samt att genomföra ombyggnads - och förbättringsarbeten i produktionsutrustningar.
Den högautomatiserade produktionsutrustningen består av PLC-system, robotar, transportsystem, ugnar, ventilationssystem och produktanpassad mekanik. 
Som Underhållstekniker kommer du att arbeta i många olika typer av produktionsutrustningar. Arbetet är förlagt på natthelg.


Du och dina färdigheter

Vi tror att du har en 2-4 årig utbildning med inriktning mot industriautomation/el-styr eller liknande erfarenhet. Vi värdesätter tidigare praktisk erfarenhet av förebyggande samt avhjälpande underhåll inom el, industriautomation och verkstadsarbeten. Det är mycket meriterande med goda kunskaper i PLC (Siemens 7, TIA portal) och av robot/felsökning samt teoretisk/praktisk el-kompetens motsvarande begränsad behörighet BB2.  
Arbetet kräver goda kunskaper i engelska och svenska i både tal och skrift samt mycket god PC-vana inom både mjukvaru- och hårdvaruområdet. Du behöver ha B-körkort. Har du stort intresse och kunskap inom flera teknikområden är det meriterande för denna roll. Det är även mycket meriterande om du har kunskap/erfarenhet från processindustri samt underhållssystemet Maximo.

What’s in it for you? 
You will be a part of the System Crash Testing group within the section Safety & Durability Verification. System Crash Testing mainly performs tests on components, safety-systems and even full scale-tests. We have various rigs, two crash simulators and two crash-tracks so we can conduct various test conditions that simulate real crashes. Volvos vision is to develop cars in a more simulated and theoretical environment. To be able to create new test methods and test environments for the future, it puts demands on our creativity, drive, change willingness and courage. The team mainly performs tests in our rigs for customers from VCC but we also do testing for external customers and suppliers.

What you will do
You will be part of a team that plan and execute component testing of safety systems. We have several test rigs to execute a variety of different test methods.
You and the team members work closely together with an Analysis Engineer or representant from Design departments who acts as the customer and sets the parameters for the test.

As a Test Engineer, you are responsible for the rig and execute the tests.
This includes running the crash rigs, preparing the test object in regard to transducers, data acquisition systems, hi speed camera views and test devices. You will also contribute to improvements and analyze the test result. You will collect the data and video recording from the test and compile it for further delivery to the Analysis Engineer and customer. The Test Engineer act as the main link between the customer and the test team and is obligated to book pre-test meetings with the customer and stakeholders of the test.

In parallel to the testing, you will take part in rig and test method development and also represent our department in projects concerning your field of expertise.

Do you fit the profile?
We are seeking for an analytic person who can operate in a frequently changing environment. A person who likes to be a part of the progress to develop the systems. We want you to have good knowledge of PC environment and standard PC applications. You have a university degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in measurement techniques, data collection and signal analysis, or equivalent.  Experience working with servo hydraulic systems, is a plus.

About our R&D – Basetech test & Integration  

We have come to an important step in developing our new software-centric platform. Test and integration on the complete software and electronics system level are highly prioritized. At Safe Vehicle Automation we create tomorrow’s solutions for our active safety and self-driving vehicles. In our department at AD&ADAS; Platform we develop the complete sensor and software platform that enables deployment of functionality such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking and Autonomous Driving.

In our team Interior Vision, we have an ambitious roadmap to develop the new platform for Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) to detect driver distraction and drowsiness facilitating e.g. driver alert warnings.
We are now looking for a Software Project Lead to our team, to be part of our journey in developing the new platform for future vehicle models.

What you will do:
* Define SW release management process with suppliers, aligned with internal processes, for multiple vehicle program across different platforms
* Manage SW release planning with input from the development team w r t time plans, prioritization, delivery status, verification
* Plan, coordinate and follow up SW release plans with suppliers
* Fault handling and change request management - establish way of working with internal and external stakeholders, keep fault reports up to date, report out to project management
* Point of contact towards VCC project management, product owner and supplier lead, as well as towards suppliers’ SW project leads
* Ensuring the SW product complies with functional requirements, cybersecurity and system safety standards
* You will be part of a development team that handles its own backlog and works closely with the product owner to ensure a capable, modular, scalable and quality assured platform

Your background:
* M.Sc. in electronics, physics, mechatronics, software engineering, or similar
* Minimum 5 years of experience from software development in the automotive field
* Well experienced in SW project management and bringing SW projects to successful launch, with leadership experience
* Experience of automotive sensor system technologies, understanding the complete pipeline from specification, implementation to verification and CI tool chains
* Experienced in collaborating in an international environment with multiple stakeholders
* Driver’s licence (B) ( Valid in EU)

Vad kommer du att utföra?
Du kommer att ha en fartfylld dag där du arbetar med att reparera leasingbilar som ska vidare till försäljning hos Volvohandeln i Sverige eller Europa. Det finns rutiner och processer på plats men trots det är ingen dag den andra lik då vi hela tiden ställs inför nya utmaningar och projekt som vi på effektivaste sätt löser. 
Vi tror att du är snabb på att ta in nya och innovativa arbetsmetoder, arbeta med både el- och bränslebilar samt har ett starkt intresse för kvalité. Att samarbeta i teamet med att utveckla och förbättra leveransprecision, arbetssätt och processer är en del av vardagen.

Vem är du?
För denna roll behöver du ha en fordonsteknisk utbildning ihop med ett stort intresse för bilar och teknik. Om du dessutom har erfarenhet av felsökning, elektronik och mjukvara eller tidigare kunskap av rutbyten och vinylarbeten så är detta meriterande.
Du har goda kunskaper i svenska och engelska och då du förflyttar bilar i jobbet utgår vi från att du har ett B-körkort. Vi tror att du har god datorvana och lätt kan ta till dig nya system och applikationer, fördel är om du har arbetat i systemen Tacdis, VIDA, CAB och Cabas. 
Du gillar samarbete, respekterar olikheter och möter människor med en positiv attityd. 
Om du är en person som ställer upp för andra, hoppar in där det behövs och tycker att teamets leverans är det viktigaste, då har du kommit till rätt ställe. Har du ett gott ordningssinne, gillar att jobba i ett högt tempo, utmanas av problemlösning, samt har en nyfikenhet att lära dig nya saker, så tror vi du kommer trivas hos oss.
