What are we looking for?
On our exciting adventure to develop the future at Volvo Group, we are now looking for a Group Manager in the Cab Climate section.
As a Group manager in this position, you will be a leader in an organization dedicated to technology, people, and performance, where customer satisfaction is our ultimate performance measurement.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications and experience:
* MSc/BSc in Mechatronics or Computer Science engineering or similar.
* Minimum five years of leadership experience (line and/or project/product management) in the engineering field.
* Previous experience in the development of complex systems including HW & SW
* Experience with Mechatronics development suppliers (e.g. HVAC, Heaters, Valves, compressor) and thermal management engineering and driveline.
* Strong networking abilities and communication skills in a global and multicultural environment.
* Good knowledge of Truck/Car complex systems and Thermal Management (ICE-BEV-Fuel cell drivelines, cab climate).


What will you do?
As a group manager, your key responsibilities include:
* Drive the development of the cab climate system, including end-user function development, climate feature development and system architecture.
* Secure strategies and roadmaps for the technical area.
* Drive the team in innovation related to advanced engineering, patent, cost improvement and method development. Foster the growth and development of your team members through an innovation culture and a fun place to work.
* Contribute to the TM budget by providing accurate inputs to the Cab Climate section budgeting.
* As a part of the Cab Climate section leadership team drive section and TM sub stream strategies.
* Implement TM enablers and ensure smooth flow between groups, securing effective cross section working groups.
* Address roadblocks that have not been resolved at the group level.
* Plan and implement workforce strategies (internal/external) to meet capacity needs.
* Maintain and develop networks within GTT Thermal teams as well as Volvo Penta, Bus, and VCE Thermal groups.

You will be leading one, of two, teams of talented specialists and expand the team to strengthen our value proposition to our clients. The projects in environmental planning are versatile and focused on the green change in the energy sector within infrastructure and industry.
The team is specialized within biodiversity surveys (NVI), environmental permit processes, environmental impact assessments (MKB) and sustainability assessments and climate calculations. Examples of projects we work on are Norrbotniabanan, several stretches of Ostlänken (for example Kolmårdsentrepenaden with Sweden's second-longest railway tunnel), Railway plan (Järnvägsplan) for Borås and large power transfer projects for the Swedish national grid.

Together with the other Head of Discipline within environmental planning your most important responsibility will be to lead, develop, and engage the team of specialists located in Gothenburg and Malmö. There are also colleagues in Poland that are included in resource management responsibilities. Operations will be driven mainly by digital and distance management but some traveling between offices and projects will be necessary for site visits and meetings with employees and clients. Your own base can be Göteborg, Malmö or Stockholm.

Provide technical project leadership on projects e.g. act as discipline lead / senior specialist in projects

The Team

Our team, 'Central functional safety at GTT' is in the heart of a great transformation. We work with developing and designing vehicle functional safety concepts, supporting all product streams across Group Trucks Technology to do HARA, FSC and TSC. Joint review with supplier and ensure compliancy of our development process and product to state of the arts such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and also AD standards such as UL 4600.

As Functional Safety Leader you will be involved in all levels of product development. From participating in strategic planning for the group, partner/suppliers’ selection, reviewing Functional Safety Statement of Work (SS-SOW), initial concept design and stages of development through to production launch. It will involve interfacing with a variety of groups including electrical engineering and mechatronics engineering as well as customers and suppliers / technical partners. 

You will be involved in the details of safety design, requirements review and supporting teams to do Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and Technical Safety Concept (TSC) at system, SW and HW levels. This includes refinement of requirements to HW and SW and ensuring bidirectional traceability.

Main responsibilities in your role:

* Driving the development of functional and technical safety concepts within the function, system, subsystem, software, and hardware.
* Planning and scorekeeping of safety test activities (Safety plan).
* Leading functional safety engineering activities for product development teams.
* Co-developing Impact analysis and making recommendations for inclusion of accurate safety criteria in system design and procedures to control or eliminate hazards. 
* Developing technical work products specific for functional safety requirements, e.g., item definition, criticality analyses, other safety analyses, and test coverage analysis for safety requirements .
* Supporting the implementation of functional and technical safety requirements in all parts of the vehicle system design. 
* Supporting the development of verification and validation strategies within the subsystems, software, and hardware.
* Developing and integrating Functional Safety standards and industry common practices into corporate processes according to ISO 26262. 
* Ensuring technical specifications and other work products are prepared, and stored correctly, and revisions are managed and released in timely manner.
* Ensuring that safety plan activities meet program timing.


Who are you?

You have a broad technical know-how combined with very good people skills and a strong belief in agile methods. You have a strong ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams.

Qualifications:
* M.Sc. or B.Sc. within Electrical, Applied Physics, Mechatronics Engineering
* Knowledge of functional safety activities and deliveries according to ISO 26262
* Documented experience of working with: 
* Safety Analyses at HW and SW levels including HW/SW FMEA & FTA, Performing DFA, ensure freedom of Interferences
* Specification of the hardware-software interface (HSI)

Main Responsibilities and Activities

•    Lead and participate in various battery related ecosystems with cross-functional teams.
•    Build and drive group strategy for cell material, addressing the critical questions related to these materials.
•    Support the Volvo network on topics related to cell material (e.g. recycling, resilience, sustainability, regulations etc.)
•    Stay updated on the latest trends, developments, and innovations in the dynamic battery market, and evaluate their potential applications and implications for Volvo.
•    Work in alignment with Volvo Group’s core values: Change, Customer Success, Passion, Trust, and Performance.

What you will do

As a Prestudy Leader for Cooling Routing on BEV trucks, you will play a crucial role in the early phases of development. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Providing input and feedback on the thermal system from a routing perspective
* Designing early CAD concepts to evaluate feasibility together with stakeholders
* Coordinating installation requirements for upcoming projects to optimize both system and component levels

In addition to working on future projects, you will also be involved in ongoing development—planning activities, eliminating roadblocks, creating technical roadmaps, and ensuring successful deliveries. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including suppliers, production teams, quality, aftermarket, and more.
Your role will also cover design work, requirement setting, documentation, validation, and verification of cooling system routing installations. Key tools include CAD (CREO), Microsoft Office, and Volvo’s documentation systems. The main design area involves installing various components in the front area of the truck (under the cab), covering all development phases from initial concepts to maintenance. With several exciting and innovative projects on the horizon, your contributions will be key in shaping future solutions.

Your future team

You’ll be joining a team of 12 passionate engineers from diverse backgrounds who work together to optimize the cooling system under the cab for electric trucks. We embrace an Agile way of working and collaborate closely with teams across Volvo’s global sites.

Who are you?

We believe you are a curious and solution-oriented engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment. You are adaptable, open to learning, and enjoy sharing your expertise with others. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as you will work with teams across different functions and locations. * A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Several years of experience as an engineer and/or designer in automotive engineering.

* The ability  to work in global teams and collaborate effectively across different cultures.
* Experience in supplier relationships is considered a plus.

What you will do
At the cooling routing team you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will be the product responsible for maintenance and new development within Chassis Engineering. This task will include strategic work, planning, eliminating roadblocks, creating technical roadmaps as well as being responsible for deliveries and reporting towards projects, suppliers, production, quality, aftermarket, etc.
The role includes design work, requirement setting, documentation, validation & verification of the installation for the cooling system routing. Main design work tools are CAD (CREO), Microsoft office and Volvo documentation systems. 
The main design area is to install various components in the front area of the truck (Under cab). The work will be carried out in all phases, from start cost to maintenance. Several new innovative projects are starting up where new installations are needed.

In this role you will drive and initiate technical changes from a vehicle dynamic perspective as well as developing components within the steering system. * Analyze and Test: Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to ensure our steering systems meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

In order to succeed in this role, we see that you need to have the following qualifications: 
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in another related field. Alternatively, you have extensive experience within steering.  
* Experience in steering systems and product development of vehicle steering systems 
* Experience from the automotive industry 
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
Good knowledge in English, both written and spoken 

It is also a merit if you: 
* Have been exposed to mechatronics and functional safety analysis.  
* Have knowledge from Hydraulics system development steering pumps, oil filling process, filters, sensors.  
* Have participated in data logging analysis.  
* Have some experience in using CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
