We’re now looking for a Software Lead to join our Gothenburg team: A hands-on technical leader who thrives on guiding others, writing great code, and improving complex systems that drive real, physical machines.
In this role, you’ll lead the development of the software and services that power our electron beam–based additive manufacturing machines. Our main technologies include C# .NET, with WinForms and WPF used for desktop application development. You’ll work both strategically and operationally: setting direction, supporting your teammates, and ensuring our software is reliable, scalable, and ready for the future. You’ll work in a cross disciplinary, global team where software, hardware, and process expertise come together, offering a unique chance to learn and grow while contributing to cutting-edge additive manufacturing technology. You will dig into existing solutions, understand their logic, and help modernize and extend them. You’ll also take part in 3rd line support and root cause analyses, ensuring that we learn from challenges and strengthen our products over time
Key responsibilities include:
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in C#, including development of desktop applications using WinForms and WPF, with a focus on geometric data processing and distributed systems.
• Contribute to software design and ensure that architectural principles are implemented effectively in the codebase.
• Develop and maintain robust client–server communication interfaces, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Work hands-on in an Agile/Scrum team, translating requirements into practical and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with global and other software teams to shape technology roadmaps for our EBM (Electron Beam Melting) software products.
• Act as a spokesperson for the software team within the global organization, communicating progress, challenges, and future initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a software development team, helping define and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Mentor and coach other developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
About You
You have a degree in Computer Science or another relevant education, and probably 5+ years of professional experience in software development, ideally in a role where you’ve provided both technical and functional leadership. You’re confident working in C# .NET, WPF and WinForms and you have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including modern practices like Agile, CI/CD, secure coding, scalability, and testing techniques. You communicate fluently in English and enjoy working in international teams. You’re a strong collaborator with great communication and influencing skills, able to align people and ideas across different disciplines and locations.
Experience from additive manufacturing or other industrial machinery environments is a strong advantage. Experience with C++ and Python is also meritorious. You’re curious, approachable, and open, someone who enjoys learning, sharing knowledge, and helping others grow. Familiarity with OPC UA, WebSocket, or other industry-standard communication protocols is valuable.
