About the consulting assignment
Inhalation Product Development (IPD) Device & Packaging Gothenburg is a team within Pharmaceutical Technology and Development (PT&D) and our team focuses on designing and developing devices for inhalation drug administration and packaging of pharmaceuticals and devices. This is a temporary assignment lasting until 2019-12-31.
The packaging specialist role includes:
• For drug and device projects in phase 2 and 3 to lead cross functional Packaging Coordination Networks (PCN) in order to choose or develop primary (and sometimes secondary) packaging for pharmaceuticals and devices to meet the project needs.
• Having a good understanding of regulatory requirements for packaging in different markets and to interact with regulatory functions in AZ.
• Prepare regulatory documentation for packaging to be used in clinical and marketing submissions.
• Make technical assessments (paper/computer based and/or via laboratory testing) of packaging material, packaging components, and combinations (e.g. via prediction software) and document in reports to be stored appropriately.
• Prepare packaging methods for packing of clinical trial material.
• Prepare packaging records for technical packing and assist during packing.
• Prepare Tech Transfer documentation to production sites.
• Act as a packaging expert in drug projects reporting to Product Development Lead and/or Global Pharmaceutical Project Lead.
• Develop own competencies and train colleagues according to personal competence matrix.
• Be an instrument and equipment responsible person for specific equipment (e.g. foil bag welder) which includes preparation and maintenance of Instrument and Equipment binders including performing risk assessments and training operators.
• Participate in cross functional task forces on various subjects (e.g. sustainability, child resistance and standardisation)
• Interact with internal and external groups and companies (e.g. OPS Global Packaging, Procurement, OPS production sites and suppliers).
• The role consists of some limited work in laboratories where SHE (safety, health and environmental) aspects are of importance.
About you
Requirement:
• Academic level: Bachelor or Master in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Material)
• Experience in primary packaging focusing on technical and barrier properties preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, medical device area or food industry.
• Good communication skills and collaborative behaviours
• Good level in English with experience in writing and reviewing documents
