What you will do

Your main responsibility will be to calculate part prices and tooling investments, both in new truck projects and as a support to today’s truck business. You will perform cost target setting and cost breakdowns of new and existing parts based on drawings or physical parts. 

You will start early in the advanced engineering/concept selection phase, working intimately with engineering and design. You will follow the products thru the development phases and then actively support the targets you have set in the sourcing process. 

Another part of Cost Engineering work is to support the change management process, calculating impact in tooling and product cost.
Responsibilities 
As part of this role, you'll need to dig into various aspects of production, particularly focusing on: Cathode active material (CAM), Precursors to CAM (P-CAM), Battery recycling, Anode active material (AAM)  
We have specialized tools within Cost Engineering to help you calculate production costs effectively, but a strong understanding of the production process is crucial. 

As part of your responsibilities, you'll delve into comprehending the complex array of equipment necessary for CAM, P-CAM, and battery recycling. This entails a hands-on approach with both machinery and tools, needing frequent visits to production sites to gain profound insights into operational processes and material utilization. 

In addition to equipment understanding, a key aspect of your role will involve the proper management of energy costs and the strategic minimization of maintenance downtime on production lines. A full understanding of market dynamics and the variables that affect price fluctuations is imperative for informed decision making. 

Collaboration emerges as a cornerstone of success. You'll be seamlessly integrated into cross-functional teams, liaising not only within Cost Engineering but also with stakeholders such as buyers, engineers, project leaders, and module managers. 

Facilitating transparent communication is paramount. Thus, you'll play a pivotal role in disseminating vital cost calculations internally within Cost Engineering and among purchasing teams, fostering a cohesive understanding of financial dynamics. 

Prepare for some travel assignments. Your itinerary will include frequent travel globally to communicate with various companies, as well as occasional travel to meet with our global team. These trips serve not only to understand operational practices but also to cultivate meaningful professional relationships on a global scale.
Who are you?
For this role, we're seeking candidates with specialized knowledge in at least one of the following fields: CAM, P-CAM, battery recycling or AAM production. It's essential to have a solid understanding of the raw materials involved in producing CAM, P-CAM and battery recycling. 
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in roles such as Production Engineer, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Product Developer within CAM, P-CAM or battery recycling companies. 
The ability to independently drive projects forward is crucial, coupled with an analytical mindset and cultural awareness. We're looking for a team player with exceptional communication skills who can collaborate effectively to achieve our objectives. 
Qualifications 
You have a at least a bachelor's degree in engineering (Preferably metallurgical or mining) or equivalent experience. People with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.

In your daily work you will be an active partner with PD supporting with Design to Cost – giving industrial engineering support giving advice on efficient designs for manufacturability and also on material selection that fulfils the design criteria’s.
You will be an active partner in negotiations together with purchasing both in the initial sourcing and in the change management process.  
You will be required to be able to take in-depth technical discussions with suppliers in their production lines or lay-outs about cost drivers and investments.  
In the change management, you should be able to understand the impact on dies/tools and be able to transfer this into cost.  
You will be required to frequently visit suppliers/technical exhibitions, this in order to be aware of current production methods and materials, but also future technologies that will be used when our trucks go into production. 
Since, we are a global company almost all our communication is in English, and it’s therefore necessary that you are fluent in writing and speaking English.

Who are you?
You have a Master´s degree in Engineering, or equivalent, and at least ten years of experience of automotive development: experience from Product planning, Chassis or Electromobility is preferred. You have technical leadership experience as a project or line manager, including product ownership, and extensive knowledge in automotive development. Knowledge in working with planning, balancing, and managing pre-studies in early project phases is also part of your experience.

Technical education, at least at bachelor's level, with a focus on product development, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or similar
At least 5-7 years of working experience or understanding of industrial automation.
Proven experience in traditional project management methods, and knowledge of agile frameworks is a merit.

Who we are
Our team, Fuel Cell Propulsion Testing Team, is a part of Powertrain Strategic Development within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for testing and verification of Fuel Cell Systems as well as Fuel Cell Propulsion Systems, performing tests in the vehicle, test rigs and HIL. In addition, also engaged in prototype fuel cell vehicle builds, commissioning of fuel cell propulsion system and part of the development of forefront Fuel Cell technologies.
Your future team
The team consists of individuals with diverse skills and expertise, including knowledge of various testing methodologies, automation testing tools and domain specific knowledge. You would join a diverse team with different backgrounds and nationalities, which allows us to approach testing from different perspectives and address a wide range of testing needs. Maintaining a positive and constructive attitude is crucial to us, even in the face of challenges or setbacks. Our team are now looking for a Test Engineer with focus on HIL testing. 
What you will do
As a HIL Test Engineer, you will take ownership of our Fuel Cell HIL test rigs and in in close collaboration with our software team and technology design teams support internal hardware and software testing needs by design, build, and implement effective testing strategies to verify that software and hardware functions work as intended. The primary objective is to validate and verify the functionality, performance, and safety features fully meets the Volvo quality standards before they are deployed in our test vehicles.
In this role your main responsibilities will be:
•    In collaboration with SW developers, system architects and test engineers develop comprehensive test plans for HIL-testing.
•    Configuring and setting up the HIL test environment, including integrating real HW components.
•    Designing, developing, and documenting test cases based on system requirements and test plans.
•    Modifying simulation models using tools such as Simulink to accurately represent the behavior of hardware components and simulate real-world operating conditions.
•    Executing test cases on the HIL test platform, monitoring test results, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during testing. This may involve debugging simulation models, analyzing data, and coordinating with other team members to resolve issues.
•    Analyzing test data to identify deviations from expected behavior, documenting test results, and generating reports summarizing test findings, including any defects or anomalies discovered during testing.
•    Collaborate in cross-functional analytics community.

Our mission is to be a vital part in providing new sustainable technology for AB Volvo transport solutions by securing that the fuel cell propulsion system is fulfilling set requirement by extensive verification testing.

Who we are
Our team, Fuel Cell Propulsion Testing Team, is a part of Powertrain Strategic Development within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for testing and verification of Fuel Cell Systems as well as Fuel Cell Propulsion Systems, performing tests in the vehicle, test rigs and HIL.
In addition, also engaged in prototype fuel cell vehicle builds, commissioning of fuel cell propulsion system and part of the development of forefront Fuel Cell technologies.

We are now looking for a Test Engineer with focus on verification of Fuel Cell Propulsion Systems.
What you will do
As a Fuel Cell Propulsion System Test Engineer you will be responsible for conducting extensive testing, both in vehicle as well as test cells. Collecting data, analyzing results, and providing valuable feedback to the engineering and development teams. This position requires understanding of automotive engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality test data. Your work will be in close collaboration with simulation, control, and system engineers, you will also analyze and identify cause-effect relationships between design and performance to specify, balance and verify system requirements. 

Another part of the role is to develop innovative experimental methods for improving the efficiency of the test campaigns and the accuracy of the experimental data.
•    Conduct tests in trucks in various operating environments. Testing could also be performed in test cells.
•    Utilize advanced data acquisition systems to collect comprehensive data as system performance, fuel efficiency and other relevant parameters during field and rig testing.
•    Maintain detailed records of test procedures, results, and observations. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
•    Investigate any issues or failures encountered during tests, diagnose root causes, and work with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
•    Ensure that testing is conducted in compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards. Always prioritize the safety of personnel and equipment.

The scope of the role

There are of course different technical solutions securing tightness of battery packs, such as gaskets, glues, welds etc. However, this role is only capturing tightness solutions through gaskets and adhesives.

As Sealing Responsible Engineer, you will lead, develop and contribute to the crucial area of tightness of the battery encapsulation and its associated components, such as covers, plugs, venting etc. This through the complete design lifecycle, from pre-studies to maintenance phase. You will have to work in close collaboration with attribute leaders and components engineers, contribute to the design of the battery encapsulation and its associated components to secure and balance best practice solutions for the area of Tightness. 

You will define sealing solutions such as material choice of gaskets and adhesives with respect to different surface treatments, contribute to the battery encapsulation components to secure that the tightness requirement is met, support engineers in defining test plans with respect to tightness, adhesion of adhesives with respect to corresponding surfaces etc.

Who are you?

In this role you will be a go-to-person within the energy storage system department when it comes to the area of tightness of battery pack. You’ll carry out component roadmaps and support advance engineering within the area of sealings and adhesives in collaboration with your colleagues.

To be able to support other engineers within this area, we believe that you are a great communicator and a pragmatic team player that knows inside out how to develop and secure Volvo GTT standards. You have a broad knowledge and experience of developing sealing solutions and are used to express yourself within requirement specifications. You feel comfortable of owning and taking responsibility of your components and do so with great attitude.

We believe that you have:

•    Master of Science in Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
•    Extensive experience in the working area of sealings & adhesiveness of minimum 5-7 years.
•    Experience from Battery Encapsulation working area is a strong merit, otherwise minimum 10 years of experience from automotive sector.
•    Experience from Reviewing and analyzing certification test of complete battery pack with respect to requirements.
•    Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following: KOLA, pdm-link, PTM/MS Project, JIRA.

The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining IAM applications, overseeing authentication systems, and managing databases. It also requires implementing Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) processes, ensuring thorough audit procedures.
